Coach Mike Montgomery is starting his 25th year of coaching HS soccer in Alaska, and his 27th year of teaching PE for the Anchorage School District. His High School teams sport an overall record of 281-45-30 in that time. Mike grew up in Anchorage, graduating from Service High school a "few" years before South Anchorage High School was built. Mike earned a Teaching degree from University of Alaska, Anchorage and the next year his Masters Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He continues to train his teams at the highest level to prepare them for their next level of soccer. Besides soccer, he enjoys biking, fishing, family, and riding his motorcycles.

Coach Tim Valesko graduated from Service High School in “89”. The Service Soccer Team won state during his freshman and senior year. Coach Valesko was awarded the MVP for two seasons and “Gatorade Player of the Year”. Coach Valesko then attended Concordia College in Portland Oregon studying business management and marketing. While playing for the Concordia Cavaliers, Coach Tim was second in team scoring his first two years and third in his junior year. The Cavaliers went on to place third in the NCAA nationals his junior year. Upon moving back to Anchorage Tim received “the call” from Coach Mike asking if he might be interested in coaching –no regrets saying yes to that question!

This will be his 3rd year coaching the South JV boys team. Kevin is a former Wolverines starting center midfielder and Captain during the 2005 and 2006 state Championship seasons. He attends the University of Alaska Anchorage, studying for a degree in physical education. Kevin also coaches the 94 Alaska Rush girls team and a 98 Alaska Rush Boys team. He enjoys roaming through the woods of the Hillside on his mountain bike. Kevin enjoys lifting weights, camping in the summer and riding four wheelers with family. He is excited for the current season to come and knows that with hard work it is going to be an exciting season as well as a successful one.
